[ Act No. 2816, March 04, 1919 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY-NINE OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF POSTS TO COLLECT STORAGE ON POSTAL PACKAGES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in
Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

Section 1. Section nineteen hundred and fifty-nine of the Administrative Code is hereby amended by adding, at the end thereof, the following paragraph:

"The Director of Posts shall fix and collect storage charges for postal packages the consignees or addresses of which have failed to call for them at the post offices within thirty days after being notified and requested to do so, and for this purpose he shall, with the approval of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications, establish a schedule of charges for these cases: Provided, That the charge made for each package shall not exceed five centavos for each day of storage."

Section 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.ℒαwρhi৷
